Getting there

Melbourne Docklands is right on the city's doorstep and linked to the city by excellent public and private transport, and bicycle and pedestrian connections.

Car parks are located along Docklands Drive.

Parking

The main road running along the spine of Melbourne Docklands is Harbour Esplanade. Harbour Esplanade connects to Wurundjeri Way (via Dudley Street and Bourke Street extension) and LaTrobe Street. The Westgate Freeway connects to Docklands via the off ramp to Lorimer Street. CityLink’s western section connects to Docklands via Footscray Road.

Parking is available in a number of locations in Docklands.

Docklands Drive has a number of car parks. Be sure to validate your ticket when you visit a restaurant or bar for a reduced car park rate Telstra Dome has undercover parking for 2500 cars. To access the main entrance at Gate 2, turn off Wurundjeri Way and enter the carpark from the Bourke Street extension. Another 1600 car spaces are available throughout Docklands. During events, Wilson Parking operates large outdoor carparks immediately adjacent to Telstra Dome.

TRAIN

Spencer Street Station is the closest train station to Melbourne Docklands. The Bourke Street Pedestrian Bridge, which winds around the southern side of Telstra Dome, provides direct access to Spencer Street Station.

During Telstra Dome event days, platforms 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14 can be accessed directly from the bridge. Spencer Street Station is the terminus for all regional and interstate trains.

The free City Circle Tram, which circumnavigates the CBD at 12-minute intervals operates through Docklands and runs along the waterfront on Harbour Esplanade. The City Circle Tram runs along Flinders Street, Harbour Esplanade, LaTrobe Street and Spring Street, in both directions, from 10.00am to 6.00pm seven days a week (except Christmas Day and Good Friday). During daylight saving hours are extended from 10.00am to 9.00pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

TRAM

Catch the free City Circle Tram to Docklands or take one of the following city trams:

No. 48 & No. 70 via Flinders Street
No. 86 via Bourke Street

BUS

The Fishermans Bend bus 236 travels along Lorimer Street, Docklands. To arrive at Harbour Esplanade, disembark at the intersection of Lorimer Street and Montague Street and walk over the Charles Grimes Bridge.

Spencer Street Station is a departure and arrival point for the Domestic and International Airport Skybus service and V-Line road coach services.

TAXIS

Taxi ranks are located on Harbour Esplanade, Bourke Street, NewQuay and at the coach terminus at Spencer Street Station. During events at Telstra Dome taxi ranks are provided on LaTrobe Street near the Gate 6 entrance, and Bourke Street near the Spencer Street intersection.
